A thematic workshop on 'Financial Instruments for the Low-Carbon Economy'!

The Policy Learning Platform is hosting a thematic workshop on 'Financial Instruments for the Low-Carbon Economy' in Brussels on 20 June 2019. 

During this one-day workshop thematic experts Katharina Krell and Simon Hunkin from Low-carbon economy will provide knowledge and exchange of experience in the area of financing options for large-scale energy efficiency refurbishments and other low-carbon economy investments.

Among others, participants will have the chance to hear about the latest developments regarding financial instruments (FI) at EU level and examine setups for diverse types of financial instruments such as soft loans, guarantee schemes and revolving funds.

EC Communication Campaign: Audits in H2020 Projects

The Technology Centre CAS (Prague, Czech Republic) and the European Commission invite you to the „EC Communication Campaign: Audits in H2020 Projects“, which takes part on 14th May from 10 to 17 p.m. The workshop is web streamed. The goal of this event is to present and clarify the rules of H2020 audits and to bring together all the stakeholders involved (beneficiaries, EC and the auditors). Webinar: Horizon 2020 calls on Financing Energy Efficiency, 30 April 2019

E-FIX Train-the-Trainer Seminar & Partner Meeting in Vienna

27 representatives of the E-FIX partnership from six countries in the Central and South Eastern Europe and the Caucasus came together for a two-day Train-the-Trainer seminar on the 12th and 13th March 2019 in Vienna. The E-FIX project aims to support the uptake of innovative financing mechanisms in order to facilitate the realisation of an increased number of energy efficiency projects in the focus countries. Conducted and hosted by the University of Business and Economics Vienna and with valuable input from ConPlusUltra as project coordinator as well as from the project partners CONDA (AT) and IPOPEMA (PL), the seminar addressed both financing as well as non-financing experts that will subsequently act as trainers in their countries.

Over the past couple of years crowd funding became a well-known term and crowd investing is an already established tool for company financing on one side and part of investment strategies for investors on the other side.

While crowd funding spread quickly in the startup scene and became famous for non-profit organizations, art and cultural projects, crowd investing evolved quickly into a solid fundraising method for SMEs, real estate and energy projects as well. 

Democratization of Energy

Although renewably energy industry is facing many challenges and barriers, such as regulatory hurdles, technical challenges and the rethinking of consumer, financing is one of the main impediments to cause a change.

E-FIX made its first public appearance in Austria

General assembly meeting in Tbilisi (Georgia)

In the 7th month of the E-FIX project, the General Assembly was organized at the location of the Caucasus University Ltd. The university building overcame recently large refurbishment of part of its building, and obviously many of the topics addressed in E-FIX are relevant for them.

The first deliverables of the project are now becoming visible and were officially launched to the public – project promotion materials, incl. logo, and public website. During the meeting, a lot of attention was paid to the baseline reports (WP1) and project management Deliverables. Another key result that receives a lot of attention is the case studies for energy project financing. The case studies should show innovative approaches of financing energy projects.

E-FIX presented during 7th Traditional and Renewable Energy Forum

Traditional and Renewable Energy Forum is an annual energy event  organised by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, Primus, Attorneys at Law, and Polish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce and in partnership with embassies and partnering companies.

Started in 2012 Energy Forum was one of the first events to discuss energy related issues in the Baltic region. Since then it has become a place for energy experts, economists and politicians to meet, discuss and share professional insights.
