With the completion of the first phase of the project, which focused on analysis of financing frameworks and identification of financing gaps for partner countries, Consortium conducted two new reports:
D1.3 Case Study analysis of energy projects making use of alternative financing methods with focus on investor & project developer relationship - Each project partner collected and elaborated on typical cases of energy project investment that highlight national financing structures and procedures that determine the relationship between energy project initiators and investors. Case studies from all the Partners were compresed in one report
D1.4 : Individual gap analysis regarding innovative energy financing mechanisms for each partner country - With this gap analysis partners will evaluated and validated their preliminary choice of financing mechanisms which will be the focus for the Pilot Financing Campaigns. The objective of the analysis is to support or adjust the pre-selection which was done at this time of the project more than 1 year ago. In combination with the knowledge from the previous tasks of the Baseline WP (T1.1-T1.3) and incorporating the perspectives of the first stakeholder forum (T1.4) the focus of the regional roll-out was adjusted to meet the regional demands. The individual gap analysis was elaborated by the PPs with methodological support from the WP lead. This analysis was specifically addressing the financing needs of local energy project developers, the size and type of energy projects to be developed in the near future as well as actors from the finance sector and private investment sphere and their potential role in the implementation of innovative financing mechanisms. In particular, it quantify the implementation gap addressing to which extent available knowledge is not translated into action due to policy or operational barriers.
