E-FIX together with Horizon2020 project C-TRACK50 and leader Interreg Central Europe project PROSPECT 2030 prepared a Q&A session titled Let ’s make Carbon Neutral Regions Happen on the 14th of October at European Week of Regions and Cities 2020.

Thanks to the European Green Deal, the EU has once again set itself up as global leader to fight climate change and aims to become carbon neutral by 2050. Economic growth would be dissociated from the use of resources, making the transition fair and inclusive for all.

As a result, a Multi-Energy System Integration must be set up. So, what is the way forward for regions and cities in the energy transition? Which steps must be taken and how can the EU Green Deal support regional efforts towards fixed goals? What role could regions play in the locally-driven energy transition and how can EU funding (e.g. LIFE) help with this challenge? These are the main questions which were addressed during the session.

Moderator Melissa Miklos, Communication Officer from  FEDARENE, together with speakers: Przemyslaw Komarnicki, Professor, Head of Convergent Infrastructure Department, University of Applied Science/Fraunhofer IFF and Michele Sansoni Project Adviser, Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) enhance exchanges and discussions regarding challenges and opportunities waiting in the way of transition to a zero-emission regions.

During the session there were short presentation on 3 hosting projects, including E-FIX :
